The Network unlock code unlocks your phone for all carriers, once and forever.

The SIM unlock code is like the PIN code on an ATM card. It protects your SIM card from loss/theft.

An Unlock code for a BlackBerry is usually a MEP2 Network Code. Sometimes it is a MEP4 Service Provider Code depending on the carrier. Some models are even locked with both.
