Guys, there was another thread about this....
Happens to me too, and it's not OS related for me. Try snapping the slider shut hard a couple of times. Sometimes the device doesn't detect that its been shut all the way, and it throws it off.
This has worked for me and others also...

The issue is likely to be mechanical. At least mine seemed to be. The sensor that tells the phone the keyboard is closed may not be working right. I saw one suggestion to shut the phone hard a few times to jar the sensor.
The longer discussion I used included a way to tell if it was the sensor. In a dark room, open the keyboard to get the kb to light up. Then close it. Look to see if there is light still coming from the kb when the slider is closed. If so, it's not sensing the changed state. There were two suggested solutions.
1) With the slider closed, go into an app that requires the kb, like composing an email. The onscreen kb won't come up and the kb icon will stay grayed out. Press hard on the icon, anyway. The right amount of pressure will bring up the onscreen kb. You can then exit out of everything. Screen orientation should work right, now. It may be permanent or it may be just till you open the slider again. But it does work.
2) Use an OEM holster or sleeve. The pressure from the holster is in all the right places that it resolves the orientation issue. If you always use the holster, you won't notice that this is a temporary fix, too.
3) I have no explanation for this one. But I just got one of the Seidio extended batteries and I'm on the fourth day of using it. Since using the Seidio battery, I've had no orientation issues. I have no technical explanation. As far as I know that shouldn't do anything. But I have four days of normal orientation changes. Go figure.More thoughts at Bill's Spiritual Musings. http://billkraski.blogspot.com
