Torch 9800 apps on Torch 9810
How can I load Torch 9800 apps on my new 9810, I've found apps on app world that I want but they are not available for the 9810 but are available on the 9800.

If they aren't compatible with your 9810, it probably means the developer needs to update the app to work with OS7.
You can't sideload apps onto BlackBerry's, just the PlayBook.Perhaps life is just that...a dream and a fear. - 03-16-2012, 05:54 PM #3
From my experience all i did was visit a webpage and download from there. For example, i wanted the Vancouver Canucks Hockey App. It's unavailable for the 9810. I visited the Canucks website and downloaded it from there. It works and all but it's not perfect.
I wanted Google maps. I visited the google maps website and i got the app from there. It's not in App World. Please sign this petition to bring Netflix to BlackBerry. Help your BlackBerry brothers and sisters.

Downloading apps not compatible with your phone often results in bogging down your phone, freezing, and various other problems.

Sure you can! It's one of the major functions of BBSAK. You can sideload any app that you have the CODs for.
Unfortunately for the OP, App World will only let you download CODs for your specific device. If a website doesn't support the 9810, often you can get 9800 CODs by just telling the site you have a 9800. I did this with Garmin Mobile a while back. You can probably do this at the CrackBerry App Store as well.
Some 9800 CODs work perfectly fine when sideloaded on the 9810 (e.g. EveryHour). Others have superficial screen issues because they were written for a smaller screen (e.g. ParkMobile, GarminMobile). Others don't seem to work at all on the 9810 (I'm looking at you, Morningstar).
One annoying thing about side loading is that App Loader almost never recognizes sideloaded apps, so I end up side-loading a dozen or so apps after every OS update. This can be remedied by writing a .ALX file for each side-loaded app by hand. But it's easier for me to just select all the CODs I want to load in BBSAK.Thanked by:californiablackberry (03-16-2012)
