Phone puked during install. I wiped it and reinstalled this and it went fine. Only problem is I have to reinstall all my apps again. Good news is, ATT mobile hotspot works and I don't subscribe to a tethering plan. Still testing all the functionality of the OS though. So far, it is working fine

With 402 I had touchscreen problems and Wi-Fi drops, so with this update it seems that those problems have been addressed at least for me. Battery so far has been great! Since I installed the OS (yesterday at 6pm) I haven't charged the battery and I still have 18%. For me it's a good build...

IMHO no observable difference between 7.1.0.378 and 7.1.0.342. BT Streaming, PB Bridge, Wi-Fi, TMo WFC all work exactly the same for me after the upgrade.

Wfc = 2012 uma
Hubermania - I know you were the 8220 T-mo guru and I am going to look to you as the t-mo 9810 guru
I had seen the 9810s back on tmo site 99.99 for a refurb - so as I read your review we have lost our UMA and its now WIFICALLING only?
the 8320, 8220, 9700 and 9780 all let me turn off my radio and hook up to wifi and get UMA calling - does WIFICALLING work the same as the oldschool UMA

I'm an AT&T customer in So CA and have never downloaded a leak or official OS other than ones that pop up from AT&T on DM during syncing (which may never happen for 7.1).
I am still running 7.0.261 with zero issues so I have been hesitate to upgrade due to the many bugs in these leaks and some "official upgrades". With that in mind, I have some questions. Should I still delete the current vendor files as per the instructions for leaks, and did you guys use DM to upgrade or did you go to the Apploader exe file and use it. DM is obviously easier. Please let me know the steps if different than in other threads for "leaked versions". Also, any upgrade always removes the apps but you can reinstall most of them from AppWorld. Go to “Uninstalled” in your “My World” and they should all be there. Make sure and save and back up pictures on your text messages and any 3rd party app codes that you may have. Thank you and much appreciated for any good instructions on this.

@go1ndr
What I did was after the DM has been installed i just made a shortcut to the apploader.
1. from what I hear, if you do not remove the vendor file the update won't be available if it is not for your carrier...and this has to be done twice if the OS is an official release...I don't think leaked releases have this in it...also there were reports of this being in two places since the release of 7.0/7.1 but i have not had any issues.
2. I just did an update to this level and I did not loose any of my programs as the app loader backs up all of the programs that i currenty use...The settings are another thing but the apps are back.
3. Have not had any issues with picture or text message that I have saved or that I have not deleted. when selecting the apploader mode there is an option to save all the data on the phone so just check that and you should get everything back to the way it was before....
Hope that helps...I am sure others will chime in also...
On this build, I never thought that I would describe it as this, but, it is snappier
.
I tried .402 and each time i lost the speaker/mic. have not lost anything yet...this is the first few hours of running it though...Last edited by kpin_it_real; 05-04-2012 at 04:35 PM.

UMA and WiFi Calling, only main difference is that the latter lacks hand off signal from WiFi to the the cell network. This means that if you loose WiFi during the call, it will drop in the case of WiFi calling.
Both UMA and WiFi calling can make the call once you establish the connection without turning on the radio. Make sure you get the correct symbol on either UMA and new WiFi calling before turn off the radio. I made many successful calls this way both domestic and international.Z10 - 10.0.10.85 and PB 64GB

Thanks keeping it real! I posted back but it didn't take so if this similar reply shows up as a dup, I appologize. Did you remove both the vendor files for ATT and for the new download as well (if there is any)? I've heard over the years that doing it both ways is good but it sounded like the DM was easier--that said, most say the AppLoader is better. I'm very concerned and fearful due to a friend doing a leak download and install and they have had nothing but issues since. They tried to go back but it's never been the same. And, if I'm not mistaken, once the files are deleted, you can't reload them or the old OS from ATT. I've held off all this time b/c I just don't really have any issues with the old 7.0 build (1355), but it is starting to get buggy with new downloads so I figure it's time. If you can, let me know on whether the new OS puts vendor files on as well. BTW, I do have two vendor files. One is in common files and the other is in another place. Thanks!

Update: rebooted the pc and opened the DM and it now shows 7.1Bundle 1276 available for update. May do it today before leaving office. keep you all posted and wish me luck.

All done and working well it seems. Had to do the usual email reset and some app "allows" but all seems to be working well. HotSpot is on there, just haven't messed with it yet. It has a new message folder that says "Emergency Alert Messages" that I haven't seen yet but other than that, it seems like the same phone. Battery down 20% in forst 30 mins but did a few battery pulls and that should help it settle in. More as the time passes but it seems to be a good update! Thanks everyone! BTW, the DM method was flawless and it loaded all of my 3rd party apps back on and all but 5 worked from the start--the others required GPS info and approvals. So very happy with that. SO FAR! More tomorrow.

Thanks!! The first 7.1 release that workes fine on my AT&T Torch... The other releases caused touch screen and freeze issues but this one is fine (finally!). The Wifi Hotspot works and yes you cannot switch between Edge/4G network, that option is gone... Also why does the SSID for hotspot changes all the time?

Been on this for about 24 hours now. Only real differences between this and .342 is the 4G icon and the Wifi Hotspot works for me without a tethering plan. I was hoping to see Media Server options in the "Networks and Connections" area but it is still buried in the menu on the Media panel. Everything works as it should.

Yes. For myself and some other users this has been the case. However, if used for anything other than light occasional browsing ATT will catch on and correct.
I don't intend to give anyone the impression that using a leaked OS allows them to circumvent their plan, just giving my observations.
Edit: Apparently Crackberry is f###ing up as it said that paragraph was less than 10 characters. Hopefully this fixes that.9810 & 9900: MECCA'S LAMBDA PRIME; PlayBook: 16 & 64GB
