Hi ! Got my 9810 today ! Exchanged it for my 9900. The 9900 is à great phone, but the poor battery life was driving me crazy. Lets see how this works. I was very happy with my 9800 before, it had à great battery.
Bye !

I upgraded from my Bold 9000 to the 9810 last Thursday. Everything seems so different. Still setting things up and figuring out what I was missing with my OS 5.0.
I like the phone. I love that I have a fully working speaker again. The 9000 had a problem with the camera lens getting pressed in causing the speaker volume to go down or off. Drove me nuts.
I still kinda.miss my 9000 keyboard. The size, feel and sound of the keys were much nicer.
Battery life is hit or miss so far. Day one was ok even though I still had the screen brightness set to 100. Next day I dropped it to 20 and my phone died faster. I think it has to do with something else.
Overall I'm happy with my new phone.

i just upgraded to the 9810 today with t-mobiles free 4g phone promotion. It's definitely bigger then the 9780 I have been using but its really good. Kinda weird that i cant lock my phone anymore though because I have mine in my pocket because of work now. I'll work around that though.

| | Just order Torch 9810
Hey everyone, been following these forums alot and finally ordered a Torch 9810 from TELUS. Upgrading from the Pearl 9100. Looking forward to recieiving it and pairing it with my BlackBerry Playbook. I was nervous to upgrade to a new BlackBerry, even thought I have always been a BlackBerry Fan!. Cant wait for it to arrive. I hope this was a great decision purchase. I just ordered a Holster from shopcrackberrry.com as well.

Picked up my 9810 on Thursday, upgraded from a Curve 8530 and man, what a difference! So far I am loving OS7, but I am already missing my Otterbox Defender. I picked up an Otterbox Commuter, we'll see how I fare with that. My only two beefs so far is the location of the charging port, it makes it really awkward to type on the keyboard while it's plugged in, and I don't like that you can unlock the phone with the lock button. I can just see the phone getting unlocked while it's in my pocket. I upgraded to 7.1.0.258 and the battery life seems to be good so far, but the real test will be when I'm back at work this week.
Anyone have a suggestion on the lock/unlock thing?

coming from a 9800 that is now dead, I always love the torch design. The phone react way faster than the 9800, the only thing I don't like is that wifi calling, not stable like the UMA.

I once had the 9800 but it was stolen and the replacement that AT&T gave me was the 9810. So I pretty much got a hook up. lol
I've only had my 9800 for 2 months before I lost it but I think it's a good thing (except for the replacement bill) because the 9810 is so much better

Anyone have a suggestion on the lock/unlock thing? | Go to options>display>screen lock with slider and check the box to lock unlock with the slider. Cures the potential for issues with the lock button. Another great case that helps to protect the lock button is the AGF GRT Endo and Ballistic cases. If the Otterbox doesn't work out, you might try one of those.

1. Settings on notifications for social apps if set to update more frequently will drain your battery.
2. Make sure you do not leave apps running in the background. Sure battery drainer.
3. Update your OS to 7.1.0.258. For many of us on the 9810 it is very stable and improves battery life.
