No rumored design changes?
I don't know about all of you, but my issues with the Torch were all in the design department. Not too much on the sliding mechanism but more on the creaky, disconnected from buttons... I thought for sure the Torch 2 would contain a "one-piece" screen/button type of build. Your thoughts?

That would be great. Reality tells us different. I am more interested in the processor, RAM, storage, browser, screen resolution, camera improvements and the updated OS. Maybe lessons were learned with T1 that the buttons won't be an issue on T2.

My buttons are fine (keyboard?) The other 4 buttons by the screen are good too, but the cover for them on occasion feels slightly raised above screen height, but we are talking fractions of a mm... nothing I'd complain about. I have a bit if screen wobble, but it doesn't hurt anything.
The new specs look pretty awesome, I say. - 02-02-2011, 09:36 AM #4
How about doing something with the lock button so that it's not so easy to tap by accident. That would be nice.
I'd also like to see the usb port moved up higher where it belongs so that it's easier to use the thing while charging and the connector is not in the way of your left hand.

A trigger on the side that pops up the slider to answer the phone or expose the keyboard for use would be great. 1 GB of RAM would be great in addition to 16 GB of onboard storage.

The only issue I ever had was with pain in my hands when I first started using it. Maybe I was texting too much!!!!
The design works for me.Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy, and good with ketchup
Isn't it amusing how people who claim to not enjoy CB at all simply can't stay away????
It's because it's CRACKBERRY, the BEST BB site....

I hope so... mainly fix the Mute and Lock buttons... I can't use any full body case with my Torch because of that... just got my Siedio Innocase Active, hoped I wouldn't have a problem, but still do, now its with either the case, or the front plate.

I got to play around with one today, and the design is pretty much the same on the unit I played with. Only thing new was the colour, and the design of the back cover had much more texture to it.
As for the insides of the phone, man was 6.1 + the phone's hardware ever so responsive and smooth!!! Not to mention how amazing the camera is compared to the first torch. - 03-18-2011, 07:08 PM #10

The T2 will have more than adequate resolution. If you need HD resolution, then get a TV. The front-facing camera may be a long wait. Why there are needs to mimic android devices just because they are currently the most popular is beyond me. Given the current design, with a touchscreen and trackpad, a second convenience key really is not necessary. Where else would put the micro USB port?

I'm sure owners of the charging pod won't be too mad about not having design changes

But I'd love to see charging contacts added so it's less strain on the microUSB port. Obviously RIM still believes in this technology because even the PlayBook got a rapid charging dock with special contacts on the bottom. Why they left it off the torch to begin with still baffles me.

A tablet PC vs a smartphone...there would have to be a major re-design to put the battery contacts back on the bottom corners or the back considering that we are also talking about a slider and not a bar form factor.

I like the current design except for the position of the microusb... so annoying

The position of the USB is ideal if you have an OEM charging pod.

Slider direction
Why they choose the sliding direction up and down. and not to the side ?
I think if they slide to side, we can have better keyboard and wiser screen.
and I think many people will love it
look at many other new mobile phone which is sliding to the side,
instead of the old design phone which slide up and down
