Leaked: OS 7.1.0.714 for the 9810
It's tucked away in the Leaked/Beta OS section of the Forums:
Leaked OS 7.1.0.714 for the BlackBerry Torch 9810 Findings and Fixes
Install and your own risk, not clear whether the mic issues will not be in this release even though it's a higher version than the recently released official OS from AT&T.Last edited by ClassyBOLD; 09-22-2012 at 11:53 AM.

Does this version get the Automatic Volume Control back in the call settings?

You really need to post a screenshot of what you're looking for, or be more specific of where to look for it.

Click the green call button-menu-"In Call Settings" and scroll down to "Default Call Volume". My previous OS was the old stock 7.0.0.261 and had an option underneath that was called Automatic Volume Control, and you could set it to enabled. This function helped in noisy environments with equaling the volume when in a call. I upgraded to 7.1.0.694 and this function is not there anymore. I wonder if it is a glitch, or if nobody has this option anymore.

NOTE for those AT&T subscribers in the US who have experienced the dreaded mic problem in certain cities: while the new AT&T Official .694 solved the problem, leaked .714 still has the mic problem.
The BL Hybrid team has developed a new hybrid, based on AT&T Official .694 for 9810 and 9900 - that DOES NOT HAVE MIC ISSUES and is decidedly better performance than the new official - it includes many .cods from .714.
You can get it and see/post comments at:

.714 is a battery hog anyway... you don't want it. I'll be downgrading to .658 by the end of the week.

Well thanks guys for the info. I just cannot fathom the reason why they ditched this awesome feature. I used it for years, and helped with being hard in hearing. It worked perfect for me. I wish I knew if it is a .cod I could inject from one of those early 7.1 builds.

Couple days in and .714 is junk for battery still. Gonna go back to .658

I must be in the minority. I've found the battery life very stable on this version. I lose about 1%/hour with moderate use (browser, wi-fi). Signal is also quite stable.
