    Default jvm

I recently bought my torch 9810. Its not even 6 months old yet. Lastnight a white screen appeared on my bb's screen and it said JVM error. So I taken the battery out to reboot my device. And again appeared JVM error on my screen.I clicked 'continue' n waited for about 2 3 mins. And found I lost everything I had on my BB. Wat to do bout this jvm error? Is there any possibility that it wud appear again on my BB? If yes, then I think I shud have gotten iOS. This is my first time using BB device. And am quiet disappointed.

This happened with me too once on my 9900...had to reload the entire OS...luckily for me i had backed up my phone previously. But never happened with my 9810. Guess this problem is with most OS7 phones. I've heard many OS7 phones have bricked.

528 is an error in the actual OS code and the data on the device is unrecoverable, otherwise known as bricking. Haven't seen much of this on the 9810, but there have definitely been quite a bit on the 99xx sections.

Best course of action is to do regular backups of your device, and a simple fresh reload of the OS. Would assume your using BB protect? If not you should start and get it setup. It comes preloaded on OS7 devices and will at the very least backup your contacts and messages.

Switching to IOS wouldn't really help in this situation, since they are also known to have unrecoverable OS issues from time to time. Every thing that has human written code is bound to have bugs in it from time to time. Even the mighty microsoft and windows has bugs in its code causing system crashes with unrecoverable data loss(BSOD).
