How's your 9810's HD Video Quality?
I tried to HD video the Space Shuttle Enterprise flight today... It worked, but, the video had a strange wobbly, wavy look to it which I did not like... Anybody else experience this?

slideaway - Thanks...
I tested it and you might be right... It was much better with "Image Stabilization" OFF...
Also, I had a problem with Auto-Focus on - basically it would lose focus and not re-focus... So, for now, I will reluctantly keep Auto-Focus OFF... Too bad because it looked really good when it worked... If anybody knows a trick to force a re-auto-focus let Me know please...

I get that too when playing back on the phone but turns out gorgeous when I run them on my pc

Awesome video for a phone imho.What's in a world? - 04-28-2012, 03:37 PM #5
Did you try to record through a window? I had the focus/refocus issue when the phone would cycle between focusing on the window, then the shuttle, then the window, etc... Pretty much ruined the shot. And I was 17 floors up, right on the river so it should have been a decent vid. I think the coatings on the window affected the sensor. On the downtown run, I got closer to the window and that seemed to be better.

The auto-focus losing focus actually happened indoors later... But, you do make an excellent point about windows possibly throwing the auto-focus out of whack...

The Shuttle was cool huh? Here's an example of the "wavy shimmer" and the best video of the Shuttle I could get from the ground...

My video quality looks very good. HOWEVER - audio on very loud sounds is extremely distorted, crackly. By that I mean, normal sounds are fine, such as talking or normal background sounds, music, etc. But if someone talks very loudly, or there is loud ambient noise, like a bus engine running a few meters away, then the sound is horribly distorted with crackles.
Anyone else notice this?
Cheers
