Got my Torch for free !!!
well. I'm allready a verry happy Curve 8520 user for years now...
last week we got our yearly evaluations @ work.
Normally the better you evaluation, the better your yearly bonus is as employee.
But due to the crisis our company decided to give us the choice.
The bonusses would be significantly lower then the years before (for example, after taxes, the amount would have been normally every year 600€)...
This year the bonus would be, before taxes 130€ (wich means, in belgium, after taxes approx 50€)....
so our company told us we could choose: the bonus or a certain amount to spend on the sites of 3 companies who deliver IT-hardware to our company.
I choose that option... my amount to spend was 531€....
On their site I saw the Torch 9810 for around 369€ (if you know that in shops in belgium it is at 499€, it's a bargain, unfortunatelly the company only delivers to other companies/partners)
So I bought it and I had money left so I started to check around the site.
For my gf I bought a white curve 8520 and an syncpod for my Torch...
So everyone's happy :-)
even my employer since: they buy officially the blackberries, but I get them. This means for them they can enter the amount as a cost, so tax deductable and they even get the TVA back from the government .... - 04-27-2012, 08:41 AM #2

I may be blunt, but it was the only way you would understand! @Fubaz

Fubaz the differance he owns the phone out-right. No contract and not locked to a carrier. This is much better then "the 9810 has been free on contract from my provider for a long time. "
Kodos to your free device, I have a torch 9810 and really like it.

AT&T has alternately offered the 9810 for $49, $99, and I think at one time they had a sale for $1. Glad you got your's for free. I'm glad I got mine for $49. It's a great phone and it needs to be touted as on the equal with the Bold (personally I think it is superior, but that is not to put down the Bold).

the problem in Belgium is, untill recently it was forbidden for phoneproviders to give free mobile phones with a subscription.
The other advantage in Belgium is: any mobile phone sold in Belgium may NOT be carrier locked. that is also why in Belgium we pay for example a lot more for the Iphones... - 05-02-2012, 02:36 PM #8
BioHazard. I'm glad you got the 9810 .Enjoy!
As for Mr Fubaz.. there is a thin line between bluntness and rudeness.
Get my drift. To coin a phrase, "It may be blunt , but it's the only way you would understand!"
Bio was happy and he made a great deal for himself, and more importantly, for his lady friend! Good deals all around. The Writer~
