Compass Issues
The Compass provided in 9810 & 9900 is really a pain. Every time when I am in need of it, needs to be calibrated. The calibration also takes a lot of time.
If I am successful also , it gets un-calibrated again. Needs to be calibrated frequently.
Does anyone face the same problem & does anybody has a solution for the same. - 11-02-2012, 08:41 PM #3

Compass Issues
Same here. And sometimes no matter how much I twist and turn the device it does not lock the position.

Re: Compass Issues
You're partially correct. The compass app can be repackaged and separately installed. Grab the cod's from a former OS, that had a properly working version of the compass app, and install it using any of the phone tools. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, go back to the OS that the compass app worked for you, and let me know what version that is, and I'll up an installer for you.
All the BB's are not having this problem. Mines works fine, and I'm using .746's compass app, in a hybrid.Last edited by Mecca EL; 11-03-2012 at 08:18 AM. Reason: update..

Re: Compass Issues
It's a hybrid of my own design. I haven't finished building it, I'm still testing. But I'll package .746's compass for you, and you can install it after unzipping and starting the jad file.
On a side note: It makes sense the the compass app ask for recalibation, after a period of inactivity or lack of regular use. Even gps apps and units require recal...in order to give the most accurate of readings. I don't know of a precision tool that does not require it.My Primary Device is always my 9810. Re: Compass Issues
Hi Mecca, I faced this problem with every OS version I installed.

Its really a pain to calibrate it. And when I need it urgently, it really looks funny when I'm waving my hand desperately to calibarate it.
Currently I'm running .658 - 11-04-2012, 01:15 AM

Forgive me for the delay in response, I had a death in the family...
Have you updated to the latest UTS .746 release? Test the compass on that version, and report your findings. My Primary Device is always my 9810. I just have a Zed...for fun!!
