Default BB OS 7.1 Update of 9810 - PLEASE HELP!!!!

    Hello all!

I have an at&t branded 9810 that's unlocked and I'm using with t-mobile network. Thus far, at&t hasn't released the update, so I've dl'd tmobiles and I'm trying to install. I've followed the install/update instructions found on another crackberry forum but I'm having the most difficult time.

    I've installed the exe file.
    Deleted the vendor.xml.
    Launched the app loader.
HOWEVER, when the app loader loads, it only shows 3rd party apps that I already installed like pandora, fb, twitter, etc. There's no option for the 7.1 OS.

Am I missing a step? Or am I not able to use tmobiles update for the at&t branded phone even tho its on tmos network?

    Please help!

    Thanks!!!!

    There's a second one hidden with the 7.0-7.1 OS's. It's in C:\users\%username%\appdata\roaming\Research in motion\Blackberry Desktop\Vendor xml\vendor.xml
All OS's work on all brands given that they are the same phone. Company should not make a difference

I agreed with masterscarhead1 try to locate the other vendor.xml file on path he gave you, i was having same problem too, if it doesnt work try to umount other USB devices plugged in ur pc and also umount virtual devices, i read in some place that could be part of the problem dont know why, in my case i did both, erase 2 vendors file and unplug usb and umount virtual drives, and next everything was ok i could upgrade my os to 7.1

I am also tired of waiting for AT&T to release 7.1 update and hope that this update will resolve locking up problems I have with my 9810.
    There are two latest choices;
    1. T-Mobile -9810jAllLang_PBr7.1.0_rel998_PL5.1.0.230_A7.1.0.28 4
    2. 9810M_PBr7.1.0_rel1149_PL5.1.0.276_A7.1.0.342_Tele nor_Norway
    3. 9810M_PBr7.1.0_rel888_PL5.1.0.223_A7.1.0.258__1_
Any recommendations as to which version is better to install? Any difference in features?
    Any experience?
    I would appreciate your inputs.
    Thanks

Since every device acts differently to each version of the OS, best way to find the best OS for you is to try them each out for a few days.
    Cell Phone History:
    Motorola Bag phone > Motorola Star Tac gen1 > Motorola Star Tac gen 2 > Motorola Razr > BlackBerry Pearl(8110) > Iphone gen1 > BlackBerry Curve(8310 Red) > BlackBerry Torch(9800 Black) > BlackBerry Torch II(9810 Gunmetal Silver) > BlackBerry Bold 9900) > BlackBerry Z10(STL100-3 Black)

If on a windows 7 PC, simply click the start button and in the bottom box do a search for vendor.xml. This should find your second vendor file, just remember that you need to show hidden files and folders.

Like homer1475 says, you need to set your computer to show hidden files and folders. If you have done that and there is no other vendor.xml file, just reboot your computer. Sometimes that is all that needs to be done for apploader to find your device.

So I did a wipe on my phone and now Ive had so many issues trying every which way to update to the new UK release. Ive hunted down every vendor xml file. I wiped the phone to clear everything as I was having issues with .205. Now I cant get any version of 7.1 to load up.
