Battery dying for no reason
Just bought this (awesome, I must say) phone back in February. I don't constantly run apps or the web, and I always make sure that nothing is running in the background...but recently over the last week or so my battery has been dying in 1 day...when I first got it it would take at least 2 or 3 days to die...and this is all on a full nights charge. Boyfriend put my battery in his phone under the same circumstances and it is again dying. Has anyone else had this problem? I really don't want to do an insurance claim on a phone I just got. I know BB's take a lot to run, but what the gives

Have you recently installed an app or theme? I had BeBuzz on my 9650 and had no problems of excessive battery drainage, but on my 9930 the same app ate battery up like the cookie monster eats cookies

Well first of all, it isn't normal for any of the OS7 phones to be lasting 3 days on a single charge. I've not seen anyone that gets those results out of the battery.
Most people get about a full day out of the phone before it needs to charged and that is about it. You might get a day and a half out of the phone with very light use.
I've had my 9860 for about 5 months now and I'll get about a day out of mine, those results are pretty inline with what most people get.
If you upgrade to OS 7.1 it comes with a device analyzer you can use to track whats using your battery the most, and you can see stats like how many percent its dropping per hour throughout the day. You can also download an app like meterberry to track it, although I've never used meterberry (updating the OS is free

Thanks, I've been reading through most of the forums and I've heard alot about Device Analyzer, could you tell me where to find it on my BB please? I have OS 7.1 and I've heard a lot about battery problems starting once I downloaded the new release. (maybe I was exaggerating a little when I said 2-3 days, I was thinking of my old phone.
I havent downloaded really anything lately like themes or what not, I'm running good ol OS7 default with one of my camera pictures in the background. I'd rather use something that came with the blackberry, conserving data, ya know
Thanks for the reply!

You can type device analyzer in the device search (icon upper right) and it will take you to the options page

OK guys, thanks again for the reply--I guess I have more than one problem though...and sorry to change topic but my BB did update to 7.1 2 weeks ago, and all this time I thought I had it, it said it did, and everything went well...now both BBDM and Software Versions (About) both show 7.0, and the Torch says there aren't any more updates...it says I have 7.0.0.583...is this what 7.1 actually shows as? Thanks guys.

Never mind about the last question, guys...I didn't realize it was a leaked version...I'm just going to have to wait for ATT to put it out. Thanks though.
