Battery drain appears fixed by 7.1.0.569 on AT&T
I had an abrupt battery drain occur recently - normally my 9810 could easily go a full day on an overnight charge (even with Bluetooth and wi-fi on constantly) and about a month ago it started crapping out in about half that time. A new battery didn't help.
I installed 7.1.0.569 and it took a day or so of reboots but now it seems back to its old self! Knock on wood. Just thought that info might be helpful. Best, R - 08-01-2012, 07:19 PM #3
The issue is with 9810's and 9900's and it is an ATT issue with all .4XX and .5XX versions only in some areas. I have had no problems in Louisville or Bowling Green(KY)or Indianapolis, IN areas.

Yeah its been more than a week now and we're back to our old 9810 - I can leave on Bluetooth and Wifi constantly and the battery drain is completely returned back to the pattern from a few months back. For instance, I've been unplugged since 8:30 am - its now almost 3:30 and the battery level is at 70%!!! This includes constant bluetooth bridging to my Playbook, and constant wi-fi access and several texts.
So to re-cap - I had great battery life till abruptly about 2 months ago- purchased a new battery - no difference and finally after a trip I had planned could take the time to install the 7.1.0.569 OS on an AT&T phone. Immediately my battery performance returned back to the pre-drain state I had seen from purchase last August till late May.

I'm a very happy camper. Rick - 08-09-2012, 12:36 AM #9
