I think you are right, though waiting for AT&T to do anything is absurd! Even if they come out with a new download, I think I'll stay with .378--it works well and I'm very happy with it. I have the emergency folder on it and I assume that even though I'm in So CA with AT&T, and the company (Mobilicity) is in Canada, it won't make any difference.

The only reason why I ever wanted AT&T to jump on releasing an official 7.1 is due to the fact that, according to my talks with AT&T, mobile hotspot is not supported on the Bold 9900 since it's a 7.1 only feature, and AT&T doesn't support this feature on their end.

I am running 7.1.267 and already have the DataPro 5GB tethering plan, but they are still blocking me from their side (says Mobile Hotspot Activation required, though I ALREADY have the plan and tethering is active on my account).

So, my BB was perfect except I had no wireless tethering, and USB cable tethering didn't work either. This was becoming a big problem since I need this function for work, as I often do business in environments with no WIFI access. Additionally, I didn't want to buy a MiFI puck or USB stick since it would be just another device to carry around (and another monthly data bill - I pay enough with AT&T!).

So anyway, long story short, I stumbled upon tether.com from these forums and it works like a charm (except it's really slow for some reason....but it works, and is reliable). Now that I have bluetooth tethering, I don't care about AT&T getting their act together since I'm running the ultra-stable 7.1.267.

I do know one thing, though. AT&T's lack of service for BB users as far as OS support has been dismal throughout history. When my AT&T contract is up I am strongly considering switching to a more BB-friendly company, such as Verizon or Tmobile.

FYI, the Mobilicity 7.1.378 download works great and has the HotSpot available with out charge--so since you are already running a non-AT&T OS, might as well reinstall the .378 and have the free HotSpot availability. Not sure however if there is an issue running it on a 9900 as it was for 9810. Others could answer that better, and post the other build that allows no cost hotspot availability. I would have to look back through the posts to see which one the other build is and I will do that for you, when I get a second free.
