9810's Battery Door...
Hey Guys!
I've had my Torch a good couple of days now, and i'm in love with it
BUT, the battery door is REPULSIVE and disgusting. I was thinking of swapping it for the 9800's battery door, but I don't know what it will look like
Have any of you guys swapped your battery door??? If so please leave a couple of pictures of what it looks like, or email me them on: chrisaayboy@hotmail.co.uk
Also feel free to tell me about your opinion of the 9810's battery door
thanks guys!

Truesupplier.com has a pretty good variety. Although I think this is still technically a 9810 cover, they carry both.
Actually, that is a 9800 cover, now that I think about it.Last edited by tlo07; 12-04-2011 at 01:17 PM. Reason: Correction

You're welcome, the 9810 battery door sux, the 9800 is a bit rubbery, and has some grip so it doesn't let my phone slide all over my trucks. Get one on Amazon if you can, I think they go for about $5.00 US.

Have had my 9810since launch and the first thing i did was swap the battery door from my 9800. Would post a pic if i could figure out how to from my new PB. FYI the stock battery door is ugly and slippery.

I'm gonna get bashed for this...I just know it BUT...
I LOVE MY 9810 BATTERY DOOR!!!
I will admit it is slippery though, but it makes it look like the front and back go together, and that black stripe is just one continuous "pinstripe" around the phone...with the black cover on the back to me it looks like the front face was left over stock they threw on cuz nothing else matched lol
Besides, I have a clear red case on it, and the silver looks fantastic under the red - 12-05-2011, 01:21 AM

I recommend OEM pouch cause it gives protection as we as very good convenience to carry phone easily in jeans pockets also.

OEM pocket pouch is all I've ever used. Had a couple cases but they make an already bulky phone even bulkier. If I had to choose one it would be the AGF GRT case. Snaps to itself and not the device. There are many others that have clips that clip onto the screen halve and force the 2 pieces apart, stretching out the metal slider mechanism and making your slider very sloppy when taken off.

Nicest looking OEM pouch I've had for a BlackBerry, also.
I'm sporting the black back. I like the look of the original silver, but it feels cheap and doesn't provide enough grip. RIM really should have their heads on and avoid glossy/slippery doors at all costs. They also did it with all the other OS 7 devices, stupidly. - 12-06-2011, 10:01 AM

I found the 9800 battery door installed on the 9810 caused the phone to start creaking after 2 or 3 weeks but when I put the repulsive 9810 door back on it stopped creaking.

Mine is wearing a 9800 door ordered on Amazon. I put it in the Seidio Surface case and holster.
