It seems strange that both batteries would be bad. Are you leaving apps open in the background? Press and hold down the "freckle" BlackBerry key to see. You should see five icons - home, browser, phone, messages and BBM. Anything else shows up and you have left an app open.

I've never had any issues with a battery in a Blackberry. I was counting on with the Torch having a shorter battery life with the larger touch screen and I'm sure it affects it some, but I've barely noticed. It's still a solid battery. I too would check what app's you have installed/running in the back ground.

You could just be in a ty service area. There was a thread a week or so ago up about a few others having problems with thier 9810 batteries. Myself being one of those. I was finding that my battery was lasting anywhere from 3 to 5 hours before it was done to 20 percent. I would notice it doing that on days I was at work sitting in a vault all day where my phone would constantly be searching for a H+ signal.
I was getting tired of having to plug my phone in at lunch time just to get through the afternoon. So what I tried was switching my phone to be on the 2G(EDGE) network. Now I can go two or three days without having to charge. It made a HUGE difference!
I suggest looking at the circumstances why your battery is draining so fast. It could be anything from searching for signal, a app that is regularly updating, or like you said, faulty batteries or even device. Yours wouldnt be the first one.
Good Luck.
