Default "you have no messages"

For some reason, if i hold the mute button there's a small two note tone and it says "you have no messages."
Its NOT bbm, sms or email, i've left myself a voicemail and its not that either. i'd just like to know how to turn it off!!!!
when i pressed the mute button before it used to play/pause music but this changed without me doing anything- i'm guessing in my pocket some options were changed...?
i've not downloaded anything new since this has happened and there's only been a download for appworld, not anything that would majorly change setting?
any help would be appreciated, even it just silenced the tone and spoken message

We were so confused when both our phones started to do this! We hadn't noticed till a friend asked me if I knew how to turn it off! Yay!
