word mole - always hang
For a game that bundled into the Torch its a kind of dissappointment. Its a miracle to reach level 12 without your Torch freeze two times. You can wait for couple of minutes and sometimes takes forever!
During game freeze you can press bb button (long press) to see background and can go home but it surely slow.
Its ever existed from beginning after I've done first OS update. Any ideas?

Thanks guys for the reply. I guess this is not important to anyone even RIM. Its free so I have to be thankful at least.
Yogi, I find it interesting and frankly quit addictive.
. You should try.
Thanks again, I'll wait for an official update if it helps.

Ive played it for a few hours at a time and quite often 30 or so minutes at a time and have never had it freeze. As others have suggested uninstall then reinstall. might clear it up.
Cell Phone History:Motorola Bag phone > Motorola Star Tac gen1 > Motorola Star Tac gen 2 > Motorola Razr > BlackBerry Pearl(8110) > Iphone gen1 > BlackBerry Curve(8310 Red) > BlackBerry Torch(9800 Black) > BlackBerry Torch II(9810 Gunmetal Silver) > BlackBerry Bold 9900) > BlackBerry Z10(STL100-3 Black)

tumblingdice03 & homer1475 I just can't find the installer for the Word Mole. Search high and low to no avail. Do you mean I can uninstall through DM and tick it again as to Install after that? Is that count as reinstall?
I'll try it anyway as I just can't find the OTA.... - 04-30-2011, 11:25 AM #8
Reloading the OS would likely reinstall it, however it seems like a lot of trouble to fix the game...
Do you have a lot of other apps running in the background when playing? Perhaps the available memory is low, and running the app is the "straw that breaks the camel's back" ?

Not much app running background (Home, Message, Phone, Browser & BBM only - just uninstalled triange something wi-fi call something) and once I installed an app calledmemoryBooster 4.1.0 I've got below indications:-
Total memory: 121.1MB
Used Memory: 44.17MB
Free memory: 77.01MB
If this bad? I thought our Memory is 200++ something, am I wrong about this?
Even memoryBooster can't help much, it recovered my 3MB.
I already try uninstall. Done battery pull. Play it a while with other games. then reinstall using DM as well. i can't even proceed to level 6 without system hang. I guess this is it. I've to abandon word mole for good. Sad but I've to accept it nonetheless.
p/s: need a suggestion on what is the nearest game that portray word mole, something really similar? - 05-02-2011, 07:03 AM #10
Uninstall by going to application management. reinstall by using app loader like your going to install the OS. App loader is smart like that and it will only load what you tick. If the OS is unchanged then it wont reload it.
FYI...
Any app that takes up memory is not a memory booster. Its similar to the battery pull apps. Waste of space and doesn't do anything more then you can do on the device itself. We already have a memory cleaner natively. 77mb of memory left of 512 is pretty bad. I would clear some old emails, text messages, any useless app you have downloaded and only used once.Cell Phone History:Motorola Bag phone > Motorola Star Tac gen1 > Motorola Star Tac gen 2 > Motorola Razr > BlackBerry Pearl(8110) > Iphone gen1 > BlackBerry Curve(8310 Red) > BlackBerry Torch(9800 Black) > BlackBerry Torch II(9810 Gunmetal Silver) > BlackBerry Bold 9900) > BlackBerry Z10(STL100-3 Black)

thanks a lot Homer for your explanation. I am curious I don't install too many app with just five to six tops running at one time. Below is Apps that I installed addition to bundled in my device such as AOL IM, Facebook, Google Talk, Windows Live Messanger, Yahoo Messenger and BBM:-
Games: Aces Jevel Hunt Classic(3.9Mb), Bubbel Burst Free(104Kb), Free Chess(680Kb), Hearts Free(2Mb), Ka-Glom Free(1.3Mb), Monte Carlo Solitaire(1.1Mb), Solitaire & Spider (Free)(465Kb & 428Kb respectively)
(I am willing to let go all free games except Chess)
Apps: Barcode Assistant(555Kb), BeBuzz Free(338Kb), BeWeather Free(726Kb), Celcom Helpdesk Speed Dialer(190Kb), Dropbox (1.2Mb), Easy Smiley Pack(1.2Mb), Repko Forum for BB(402Kb), Halal Food Guide(146Kb), How to tie a tie(1.4Mb), TuneIn Radio(298Kb), Upvise(249Kb)
(in blue to keep, the rest I am willing to let go)
Already Uninstalled(view from my Apps):-
Battles Unlimited, Butterflies Wallpaper Pack, foursquare, GPS Waypoint Manager, Guns'n'Glory Free, Ladybirds, Light Bulbs(free), MySpace, Photo Editor Ultimate Free, Texas Hold'em King LIVE, Topo Explorer, Twitter, WorldWideGreeks.com & XE Currency
Theme: iColor (901Kb), Imagining 2.0(982Kb), Paper Theme(1.4Mb)
(Would like to keep iColor only but really wish I can keep all if it doesn't eat my RAM)
My question how can I really really purge uninstall out of my system as I still can see them in UnInstalled section both in the phone as well as at desktop manager?
Another thing is that can I safely uninstall all language pack except English? Will it makes my system crash?
Sorry for very long sentences but all helps is highly appreciated

If you have uninstalled anything from application management, then did a battery pull they should be gone for good from the device.
I have 50 or so themes installed on my device, but not to many apps(5) and still have plenty of memory left(over 200mb). With that being said I also clear out old emails and text messages I don't really need. While your in application management I would check to see what it sayd there for free ram left and not rely on the memory booster app.
I still think an uninstall(via applications management) then a BP, and reinstall via DM > Applications, could solve the issue your having with it freezing. There should be 5 running apps at all times, phone, bbm, home, messages, and browser. Anything else should be closed out of when exiting(IE pressing the BB button and choosing close instead of backig out of or pressing the red end button).Cell Phone History:Motorola Bag phone > Motorola Star Tac gen1 > Motorola Star Tac gen 2 > Motorola Razr > BlackBerry Pearl(8110) > Iphone gen1 > BlackBerry Curve(8310 Red) > BlackBerry Torch(9800 Black) > BlackBerry Torch II(9810 Gunmetal Silver) > BlackBerry Bold 9900) > BlackBerry Z10(STL100-3 Black)

Thanks Homer for your patience assisting someone like me, really appreciate. I already uninstall mostly what I've mentioned above and did battery pull afterward. I even go to option>app management> to see the actual usage after the clean out and free memory indicate nearly 300Mb, guess this is good enough.
While maintaining just 5 basic apps in the background I launch word mole again with high hope I can at least glide through Level 12 with any hassle. It is cut short to level 5...same o' story. After two hours trying to solve the issue I think I need a good night sleep. I've give up.
Good night Homer, good night guys. Off to sofa bed(in a hospital accompany my daughter admitted...got a lot of spare times with not much to do anyway)

Guys ... just found a solution to this (anyway, who cares right).....
When my phone is in SOS mode(I mean there is no 3G, basically cut off from communications) I can play it without a single system hang; tho a bit slow( I mean not as speedy as always; but its fine). Don't know how its relate?
Anyway, the sad part is I still can't beat level 12 ... damn - 05-04-2011, 07:39 AM #15
ahhh perhaps it was your Torch trying to keep you from finding out you could not in fact get past that level. Wow what a great phone we have to look out for us in this manner.
Thanks for the update. It's always nice to see a follow up on how things go in these threads. Good luck to you. - 06-03-2011, 09:12 AM

tumblingdice03; no offence but I already supassed level 15!! I guess not many around here already beat that level
do not jealous
but the hang is still there; just play it safe and avoid tomatoes in the middle of every level, wait till the last word of every level finish it than use the tomatoes; that way even if the system is hang when it is free from the lag you already win it. happy mole

welcome to the club theKHMERboy but fret not as I think this is part of the game

It will happends definitely but at random. To play it safe I just did what I mention as above and even if it lag I'm in a win situation, whenever it return from a log I won, just make me happy and I don't mind the lag already

....my Torch ran slow until I turned off data compression. It might be related. Also, I remember on my bold, when I upgraded the OS, wordmole always hung, so my guess is an uninstall and a reinstall with the correct version for your OS might fix it.

Lol, I do. I've tried every tips here but to no avail, now I'm sit back and waiting for official update (I'm using .448 as of now) from my carrier. Who knows it might settle the issue. I am still playing now and it still happens but it doesn't matter as I can wait. It won't take an hour, the longest just over half an hour. Cheers... .
