This should be quick and simple

I don't know the difference between the yellow w/ a red X and the white w/ a red X. Obviously they both indicate a missed call, but what does the yellow/white mean?

I had os 4.5 before 6, so the white icon is new to me.

I don't know about anybody else but I have never had a white phone with a red X. The only thing that shows up for me is the yellow one.

I only have yellow.

Green = placed
Blue = received
Yellow = missed
White = missed call and then view the history of that missed call. The icon changes from yellow/orange to a white icon with a red x.

I should've been more clear. I only have the white ones if I look at individual call history, some missed calls are white and some are yellow.

But its probably like fubaz said, where white indicates that it was viewed.
