Default Where are my SMS messages stored?

I have a torch, on enterprise. Am switching to a new blackberry and am trying to find out where my SMS messages are stored. Under text message options, there is no option to store them on the sim card. Is this because I'm on enterprise? Are they stored on a server somewhere?
I would prefer for them to be stored on a sim so that I can then import them into my new blackberry.
Thanks.

You checked in the text messages app? I'm on BIS, and the only stored texts I have are the ones I saved in Saved Messages or the ones that I haven't deleted from Messages.

Yes, checked the text message app, nothing there about storing on the sim.

You use the switch devices wizard in DM to carry contacts, messages, appts, etc., to your new device.

I was looking in the help app on my Bold about storing texts on the SIM card, and it said the feature might not be supported by all carriers. Hopefully yours are somewhere if you need them. What do you normally do when you're done texting? Do you leave them in the messages app or delete them along with other messages? That's why I said I'd be surprised if they're anywhere. Once I clear messages (including texts) from my messages app they're gone. Your best bet is to ask the BES admin if they're saved on the server. Also, as someone wrote above, the Device Switch Wizard should carry over any texts that are on your device. If no one else here has the answer, please do report back with what you find out.

Problem is, I don't want to do an entire device switch, as given the number of email and contacts I have, it will take forever. I also worry that everything will import twice, once I turn BES on on my phone. I just want to transfer my sms messages from the Torch to my new bold, then I'll let enterprise download everything else.

Any other ideas? I hate to lose all these sms conversations.

Then try backing up everything using DM. Then restore "selected device and data", scrolling through for SMS messages.

I make no guarantee, expressed or implied.

It should work. I selectively restore certain things (messages is one of them) from my Bold 9650 to a Curve 8330m all the time using DM.
