Whenever we see new devices hit with 6.1 out of the box, you'll be close, depending on your carrier, we may or may not see 6.1 at the same time, if a Torch running 6.1 is released within that time period, it may take a while to see 6.1 for the 9800.
Most likely.... for the current torch.... never. I can honestly see this as being like the storm series. Never getting updates, and basically being left in the dust when the torch 2 comes out.

I have to disagree, The Storm's never had the market penetration that the Torch has had, and they had even less abroad, where as the Torch has done rather well in the states and abroad.
While AT&T may or may not ever release 6.1, I think it would almost be foolish to assume that international carriers wouldn't release 6.1 for their customers. With the Storm, there was a model difference between the CDMA and GSM variants, something the Torch doesn't have to deal with.
I just hope the next update produces a clicking keyboard and hyperlinked phone numbers. I did like the "next box" feature of the iphone when filling in text fields.
a clicking keyboard? I hate when people leave the keyboard sound on their iphones. Its the most arrogant thing ever. You have an iPhone, you made a mistake, stop bragging about it.
Anyway. 6.1 is def going to be on all of our 9800's by the end of the summer. I for one will be grabbing a bold touch, so it wont matter for me.
Slow down there turbo, I got the torch because I hated the iphone (it was my wife's with a broken screen, I gave up my bold so she could get her a new iphone).
That all said, the iphone, and my old Tre750 for that matter, did some simple things that the torch should do (or atleast alow you to turn off or on, like the virtual key tones).
