| | What is saved on the actual 9800 itself?
What exactly is saved onto my Blackberry device? I have a total of 3.5gb of memory but only 30mb of free space. I can't find out what to delete to free up some space, I tried deleting all of these small pictures just from everything I looked at on BlackBerry Appworld but that didn't free up very much space.
I'm just trying to find some big things to delete, any ideas?

Pretty much everything. Downloaded pod casts, downloaded music, pictures from your camera, many apps can hold a cache in your memory if they download stuff from the internet a lot, like many news/media apps... It all depends on how you use your phone and what apps you have.
Do you have an SD memory card too? Many things can be made to use it instead of the internal memory, like pictures from the camera.

Oh ya I forgot to mention that, I do have the included 4bg sd card. I've only used about 300mb on it though, so I'd much rather have whatever is taking up so much memory on the sd card rather than the internal memory on my torch.
I don't have any music, pictures/videos are all on my sd card. Very small documents (just a few) no podcasts...
I'm just nor sure what could be taking up almost 3.5gb when I don't even have it on my blackberry! I do have about 15 apps from blackberry appworld, but when I go into 'storage' in options it shows a seperate 'Application Storage' of which I have 255.2MB free. Is this not really seperate? Are the apps I downloaded taking up all of my internal memory?

You should use the "Files" application and browse "File Folders", select Device, Home, then User. You can browse through the subfolders to see what's in them.
OR, you can connect in USB mode and browse using your PC.

I really have no idea why my blackberry is so full!

Did you do a battery pull yet, possibly a memory leak from a poorly written theme. Could be from the million emails stored on the deice, possibly from the million SMS stored either.

Oh, and storage memory is different from application memory. Make sure that you are reading the correct number.

I'll try that now. My emails are automatically deleted after 15 days. I don't have any spam or work emails associated with my blackberry, only personal emails. I deleted my SMS messages and it made no change at all . I didn't ever change the theme on my BB, it's still the original.
This seems hopeless...

Ok, so you don't use a external memory card and your using up almost 3.6gb of storage space. that is very odd. Using the Files app you can browse the storage space to see what might be taking up all the space. The FILES app is located in the Applications folder.

I use a 4gb sd card but it has about 300mb of data on it, whereas my internal data has only 32.5mb free out of 3.5bg!
I've goen through my 'Files' probably 10+ times now and nothing much is in there... Nothing to take up anything over a few Mb
Taking out the battery didn't do anything.

If you're using Windows, make sure you "show" hidden files and "unhide" protected operating systems files. This will allow you to browse the entire storage areas. Be careful what you delete. Make sure you change the settings back when you're done.
