What happens if I swap motherboards

This relates to this post (phone dies at 30% ish) and a few others where I've mentioned the battery issues that myself and others have.

My husband is convinced it's the way the mobo/battery pins are reading the battery and not the software or the battery itself (since I have tried 3 batteries, as well as wipes, upgrades on the OS, etc).

If we take the mobo out of a "parts" Torch and put it in mine (the swap is pretty easy to do, already have it out of the donor Torch), what happens?

Do I have to reinstall everything? I assume the ROM lives on that part. Will the IMEI numbers change? Do I have to have AT&T reset things? If I backup my old phone and then try to restore will it see it as a new phone and freak out?

I didn't.. I haven't swapped the mobo either since I didn't get a clear picture on if it would screw up something else. And oddly, I hadn't had the issue happen in a few weeks until JUST before I got the email notification about your post. It's like it knew you were typing. Total PITA issue.

Did you have any other adverse/unexpected things happen with the mobo swap? Anything go missing? PIN still the same? IMEI still the same? send/receive calls ok?
