    On my last smart phone I could set this at the phone level - does the Torch allow you to change the number of rings? If not - can ATT do it?

    If it is possible to change the number of rings before it goes to voicemail, it is something that the carrier needs to do. You cannot change anything on your own, but you could contact AT&T and ask them.

    it can be done on the device via gsm star codes. the max is 30s, default is 20s i think. yes it can also be done in the hlr by calling your carrier.
