Default Water damaged Torch

I purchased a water damaged 9800 from someone on craigslist. I put it in rice to soak up the moisture and after 10 days I hooked it up to DM 6.1.0.35 and it recognized it but communicate with it. stuck it back in the rice for a few more days and it connected with once and asked for a password. texted the guy who sold it to me and ask for the password he swore he never had a password. After that DM hasn't connected to the 9800. the back light doesn't come on but you can see the 9800 trying to boot up but I get a JVM error 545. I used app loader but I only get the pin screen as my only choice not the usb. I went ahead and and hit next but again it asks for the password. is there anyway of wiping it clean and get around the password or I'm I out of luck? Thanks in Advance

If you enter the password incorrectly 10 times, the device will wipe itself and remove the password. If that's the only problem, you'll have a usable device.
