I will be out in Florida next week and thinking of picking one up out there to use in UK. What do you guys think?
Good or bad idea as far as warranties, functionality etc?

Looks like buying the 9800 in US to use in UK may not be a good idea due to the AT&T device firmware.

I was told by Vodafone that the price plans for the Torch are due out mid August, so hopefully next week guys, I suspect that the handset might take a little longer but expect to get one by early Sept

actually got a call yesterday from Orange, trying to sell me a business tarrif, god knows how they found out i was self employed and stuff, but regardless i said i was waiting for the Torch and he goes "the system says it will be here by the end of august" although he did go "oh you mean the touch screeny one with the slider?" so it was probably BS trying to get me to sign up. I said well mate you send me an email with your tarrifs and your Touch confirmed date and i'll get back to you. Of course, no email :P

Expansys have revised their delivery date to 1 October 2010 btw:-

RIM BlackBerry 9800 Torch (Black, QWERTY) #PRD-27603-044 - eXpansys UK

Not flaming the DarkOne or anything - that date has only changed in the last few days - info was correct at the time. (also, not that I keep checking my order status there regularly or anything!)

My 9000 is on it's last legs after 2 years, bless it's little cotton socks, so I'm counting the days...

Who knows when the actual release date is, since the reports are now that Vodafone will have it in mid September. I'm assuming that means from 10th - 19th?

It seems likely if Expansys has it at October 1 now.
