Hi, anyone able to get viper smartstart app working on the Torch 9800?
I had a 9700 with the app and I just upgraded to the Torch. I tried downloading the version for the Storm but the touch screen didnt work, I was able to scroll through lock, unlock, and start with the track pad but was not able to select by clicking it. So I tried downloading the version for the 9700, and am able to scroll and select via the track pad, but after I input my username and password it give me a DNS ERROR. Has anyone solved this issue or know if Viper will be releasing a 9800 version?
YES but NO the 9700 version works but only in landscape mode I am a python dealer and the viper reps are telling me to disable compatibility mode but i cant seem to find it on my device! (Torch)
I downloaded the app for the following BB'sBlackBerry Curve™ 8330
BlackBerry Curve™ 8320
BlackBerry Curve™ 8310
BlackBerry Curve™ 8300
BlackBerry 8830 World Edition
BlackBerry 8820
BlackBerry 8800
BlackBerry 8703e
BlackBerry 8700
and it was working 100%. I recently restored my Torch and now cannot download the link from the Viper website or from app world. Does anyone have a like for the app?
I was able to download and successfully use the beta version of the SmartStart app for my Torch since early Nov. I just picked up another Torch but Viper has removed the link to the app on their site. I found the cached page with an active link but it seems to be the non touch version. Hopefully Viper is releasing the final version soon as my Smart Start is worthless without the app.
Yes, the beta was a fully functioning app. It worked via touch screen and connected to my SmartStart easily. All I had to do was enter my username and password. In demo mode each button worked fine and would give a sound and pop up confirming the action.
I have my old Torch connected via wifi and the app still works. If only I could transfer it to me new Torch.

i downloaded the beta too, and nothing for me neither... called Viper twice and still no call back to let me know whats happening? i have a service i cant even use... what a useless product since i cant use it and im paying for it...
The Torch beta app was an active link then and it was called Viper.jad. I actually still have the file on my desktop but can't get it to work when I transfer it to my new Torch.
