If you follow all the instructions, yes, everything will work. it'll be a two step process. First, follow the crackutil guide to get the servicebooks on the device for full internes access, then find the UMA thread and follow those instructions to get UMA working. It's pretty simple if you're remotely technically proficient.

Btw, even when T-Mobile do support OS6 and have servicebooks for this device you'll still have to do the UMA fix manually as T-Mobile can't activate that for you themselves.

Congratulations btw! I hate you .

Don't worry tho, it's pretty simple to get working. The hardest part is the UMA but even then if it goes wrong it just a matter of a restore and starting over.

Default Buying a 9800 online - how do I know it's not stolen and that it'll work?

I clicked on this thread to be sure the 9800 will work well with my T-Mobile service. From what I'm reading, it sounds like it will but that it may take a few weeks for some of the kinks relating to the new OS-6 to be worked out, right? Also, I read that the '3G' doesn't work. What does that mean in not-so-smart terms? Will the phone work slower? Bad service?

Lastly, and most importantly, how can I be sure this unlocked phone I'm looking to buy online hasn't been reported lost or stolen and/or an insurance claim made against it? Is there a chance that when I get the phone that my T-Mobile SIM card won't work in it due to ATT having it blocked or something like that?

Thanks in advance for helping me out here!
~Alex.

Uma is a technology that allows all your data and calls to work over wifi. It won't help where you only have edge coverage.

The Storm2 doesn't have the chip to support uma so this won't help you anyway.

I did everything correctly and my TCP settings did not change.

"Also you need TCP configurations in Options>Advanced Options>TCP. APN should say wap.voicestream.com Nothing under user name or password."

I checked mine and it isn't.

Anyone figure out how to fix the damn Contacts. That ATT thing is pissing me off.

Everytime I click on the icon for contacts, it pulls up ATT address book. Looks like some kind of service.
