Does anyone know when the true release date for the 9800 is?

I heard June, August, and now November.

There is nothing but speculation now, no one will know until it's officially announced by whichever carrier is going to offer it and/or RIM. When that time happens youll see it posted everywhere.

Yes. It is all rumor and speculation but all the leaked information (videos and pictures) and past history would "suggest" that a release could be sometime in 2010 Q4. I believe the 9000 was supposed to released in Q2 of the year that it was released but it was released in the fall.

Just to add to more speculation.......

I called my local radio shack (20 miles from Buffalo) to see if they had any Bold 9700 in stock. They did not, no one in the area or region did either. I was told they are no longer carrying the Bold 9700. Who knows what that means, but I see it as a step that the 9700 is being phased out and something is coming in if Radio Shack is not renewing their supplies.

Just relax as it will be here soon. The rumors will drive you crazy and if you want hope a friend who I sail with, that works for ATT, has one for texting purposes. He has had it for several weeks. In the past when he gets his new RIM device we are out a month or so from release.

If they were going to announce the release date, then there would be no need for them to release the latest video. The video was released to buy more time (just like the video they released earlier this year).

I don't think that has anything to do with the 9800, I remember reading that they were suppose to do a "refresh" of the 9700.

My guess is AT&T will sit on it until around thanksgiving. I figure *when* they do announce a release date, add 30 days to it...cause they never deliver anything on time. Also, they just got a bunch of hype w/the the new iToy so I can see them waiting for a bit. Just my guess...I've no data of any sort to back it up
