I just noticed that the "transfer using bluetooth" option is missing on my Torch. I been searching online and can't find anything regarding why this happened or how to restore this. Can anyone help?

What are you trying to send? I went to my pictures, ringtones and videos and scrolled to the item I wanted to send, hit the menu button, scrolled to "Send..." and I am given the choices to send by text, facebook and bluetooth.

FileScout (available in AppWorld) has the ability to receive files via Bluetooth.

If 2 devices are paired and connected, say 2 9800s, and one sends the other will prompt you to accept...older loads do it the way described above. Os6 is different.

I remember sending ringtones between 2 9800s after getting them. I will test this in the morning.

    As promised!

test is easy. Enable BT on both devices and pair them. I used 2 9800s for this test but have also used a 9700 and 9800 in the past. I went into Media > Pictures > Camera Pictures. Selected a pic, hit the BB Menu key and selected "Send...". I chose BT and the sending device gave me a list of devices to choose from one being my second 9800. I selected it and was immediately prompted on my 2nd 9800 to receive the file. I then did the same for a custom ringtone....

it is also important to note you cannot BT xfr a locked pic, video or ringtone...

I've used the same method that shansmi posted to transfer some ringtones from my sons non BB phone to my Torch with no problem.

The option only appears once the two devices are connected via bluetooth.

i am a long user of blackberry phone and by far the 9800 has disappointed me a lot... blackberry is loosing reputation by launching 9800 with enough testing and fine tuning.... they are going the microsoft way

You turn on Bluetooth on your phone, then find the file on your mac and select the option to send it to your Blackberry. Once you click send, you will get a confirmation on your phone asking you to accept the file.

Delete the paring, re-pair and try again. Works fine on mine.
