track pad stopped working

my trackpad has stopped working but occasionally decides it wants to work after a re boot but not always. however it is heavily scratched so maybe this is the reason. any help would be great on how to fix the problem

I have the same problem. But after a reboot it is always working. No scratch on the surface for me.
I also would like a solution or cause.

Possibly hardware issues same with mine!

I think, it could also be software related.
Do both of you have berryslider app, or lister (lists app). Maybe ourgroceries.
When did you start it was not responding. Which app was running at that time?

I found that the trackpad was not working sometimes after unholstering. So i tried the lock/unlock button and THIS WORKED.
Appearently the unit was still locked. So a simple lock and unlock solved action my problem.
