Whenever I close my Torch (9800) my trackpad works fine. When I open my phone, it doesn't work at all. Same goes for the touch screen.
My blackberry will also just turn off on it's own and restart.
I bought it from a friend unlocked (and unused) so I can't send it in to get repaired.
Any thoughts?

Sounds like u may have a bad slider ribbon

Unused? How long have you had it? Was it like this when you got it?
