Touch Screen Buttons stopped working...

So, my Torch suddenly decided to stop working correctly. The SEND, BB, BACK, and END buttons all stopped working. The Track Pad works, but only to move the position, I can not select anything.

I have reset, and even wiped the device hoping it was something simple, it is not. Further to this, a co-worker of mine had his device do the exact same thing just last week. (He doesn't 'play' with his device, and was able to bring it back to his service provider.)

Has anyone else come accross this before? This is my second Torch in less than a year, the first one stopped reading sim cards for no apparent reason. I can't send them back to the service providers as I have unlocked, and installed the leaked OS's in attempts to correct other little woes with them.

Thank you in advance to anyone who's got any sort of suggestion. If nothing pans out here, I guess my next step is to try and make one phone work from the parts of the two of them. Anyone have a T-3 torx bit I can borrow?
