- i did a search and to no avail there are no threads that helped.
my torch touch screen is not working. i know its a hardware issue and not a software issue becuase if i push down on the top bezel near the bottom the touch screen will somewhat work. any ideas? is this just the matter of a few loose screws?
my phone is under warrenty. the problem is its under warrenty with at&t and i am from canada so i cannot use the warrenty.11-08-10 02:41 PMLike 0 - The warranty is supported by BlackBerry INC. There certainly must be a way for you to get a replacement, even if you have to contact BB INC to do it.
Why can't you call 800-288-2020 (AT&T) and get help?11-08-10 03:09 PMLike 0 - spent my whole monring on the phone. att cant issue me a replacement becuase i currently dont have an account set up with them (makes sence becuase im in canada) called rim and they said to call at&t again so i called them and still nope. called rim again they said to call my service provider i called them they said they cant do anything and than they put me through to rim and they said they cant do anyhting. so at this point i dont know what to do.11-08-10 03:16 PMLike 0
- I work at a dealer store that carries BlackBerry and we ran into a warranty issue in the same type of case. (the customer was using their torch on a different carrier)
It is confirmed that RIM/BlackBerry DOES NOT issue warranty devices/support the warranty directly. RIM has the resellers (AT&T or otherwise issue the warranty devices)
In this case you would have to somehow get your device serial put onto an active line with AT&T and then complete a warranty that way. Sounds stupid, but you can certainly work it out through b****in to ATT warranty/customer service. The *KEY* is getting your phone's IMEI on an account and having that person process the warranty for you
Good luck with this...11-08-10 03:55 PMLike 0 - ^^ yea thsts wat i was told. im just goint to buy a t3 screw driver and try fixing it myself. :swisani maluleke likes this.11-08-10 04:32 PMLike 1

and yea SlcCorrado ill take some pics and post how it goes. not i gotta wait a couple weeks to order a t3 screwdriver11-08-10 09:17 PMLike 0 - Mine quit working after a few weeks of hard use (I'm in industrial maintenance). I've found that taking a clean busisness card and with the phone slid closed, you can take the card and slip it between the screen and key pad halves. there are some sliding contacts located there. very carefully, swipe the card in and out a few times. It will probably come up with alot of chum on it. After a few cards, the screen returns to working. Just a thought.DonutzinaSuby and etgros like this.11-09-10 12:18 PMLike 2
