What I was told by O2 anyway:

Martin: Hi, what date will the blackberry torch be available through o2?
Mark: Let me check that for you.

Mark: The Blackberry Torch 9800 is due to be launched on our network on or after 04 October 2010.

Don't get your hopes up though, Vodafone also said it was due to be released 27th September and now they are saying expected 1st October. It could be quite a while after 4th October for o2, you just never know with RIM.

"on or after" says it all really... I really was hoping to pick it up on monday, but I doubt it will happen.

i think it will be the 8th now for other networks

i think this is due to vodafone having some sort of deal to have the first sale of the torch for a week

Just spoke to o2 and the chap confirmed that the 4th of October release date had now been removed from their system. He waffled on about some extra software testing being required. Gutted!

I was first told the 4th and the 8th and this morning i have been told the 11th for the torch on 02 in the uk. SUCKS!!!!!!!!

Moved to orange and not looked back.. Seem to have 3g signal in more places, phone was free, and I've set up UMA! interested to see how their plans pan out because they've just changed from unlimited data to 500mb I think, at least on simplicity

Same here Weezul,

I never had any probs with O2, but Orange seems to be better coverage for me at the mo.
I get double the minutes, and 750mb data

Just ordered it from o2. 1200 mins, unlimited txt and whatever the data bundle was 750MB or 500 MB not sure...�40 a month 24 mth contract... works for me should be in my mailbox tomorrow :-) Happy Days!!!!
