Torch 9800 Picture Folders
Does any one know if you can sort the picture foldes by name instead of by date?

In the Pictures app, in the bottom left corner there should be a folder icon. Tap it and folders will be listed by name. Then you will see a calendar icon there where you can switch back to date view.

Thank you noahfecks but I have 3 icons and they are view by date search and new folders. If I click on view by date it goes to view by folder but there is no way for me to but things in order by name.

When you're in folder view, it's always going to show the camera pic folder, picture library and wallpaper folders at the top. Any folders you've imported into the app should be listed by name underneath those.

Thanx once again for looking into this for me. But in the other picture folders that I have they are not in name order at all and I do not see any way to get them that way. Also in the picture library folder they are not in name order. I am confused on why I can not get them in name order.

That's odd. My folders are alphabetical after the wallpaper folder, and inside the picture library folder they are alphabetical after the "unfiled" at the top, which is the actual "pictures" folder.

That is so strange. What ver of the sw are you on? I am on 6.0 and bundle 695

Normally we go by the OS version, which is the first number in the parentheses after that bundle number. I'm using the latest release, 6.0.0.337, but honestly that shouldn't matter, my folders have always been in alphabetical order even with the original OS that came with the phone.
You could try updating and see if that helps any, but I wouldn't count on it.I like turtles. - 09-15-2011, 08:46 AM #9
I have been working around this every way I can think of for months and, while I can order folders by name (I number them, with the exceptions of "Camera" "Picture Library" and "Wallpaper") I still cannot reorder the pictures within a folder in any order other than date taken. The "best"
way I've found is to make a new picture out of it by reordering them in Dropbox or by taking screen shots of them or editing them -- but once you do all that for every picture, if you want to re-reorder any two, you'd have to "remake" ALL the subsequent pictures. It's just crazy. Now that OS7 is here, is RIM never going to address this, or has someone found something I've missed? *pleading*
