"T" to go to Top and "B" to go to Bottom not working

"T" to go to Top and "B" to go to Bottom not working
I upgraded to .706 with a clean install after wiping on my mother in law's 9800 that was experiencing random 10-minute battery drains. This OS fixed the problem (re-loading .600 did not fix it), but now hitting "T" to go to the top or "B" to go to the bottom of the email list does not work any longer.

Is anyone else experiencing this?
Is there a fix or another way to have this function still?

UPDATE:
Apparently, the battery had been pulled multiple times with no effect. However, this weekend, I performed a battery pull with the device running and it now works for "T" to top and "B" to bottom of messages.
