I'm hoping someone is able to advise me please by blackberry 9800 is not reading my sim card I think I damaged the reader in the phone when I was trying to put an iPhone adaptor thing in some little bits of gold metal came out. I would like to know if it's something I can fix from home or better to pay a professional? Will the sim reader need soldering? Or is anyone in the London area that I could pay to fix it please.

I just rectified the same problem.... I gv it to my bb service centre

The thing in blackberry is that the sim card slot is glued with the chip ...

So it has to be completely replaced !
