Default Shutter Lag on Torch 9800

I've read a few threads that purport to address this problem, but the 'solutions' dont work for me. I've tried the 'sports' setting, and I've turned the autofocus off. It IN NO WAY changes the 2-3 second shutter lag I experience on my Torch.

How do I address this? Is there an application I can run it through? Is there a setting I am missing?

The claims that the Toch has a 'Zero Lag" system are total BS. I am disgusted with this aspect of the product, to be honest. Who the ###### wants to take a picture of something 3 seconds AFTER they click?

Check your flash setting. If the flash is turned on, it needs to "meter" first to determine the flash setting.

Mine is set to Auto and does not have a lag in a brightly lighted environment.
