This cannot be changed. Not sure if a theme can change this but I doubt it. There is also no screen rotate animation on android. The animation does nothing but makes it look a bit quicker by showing something more visual.
if it transitions instantly, then why are transitioning graphics needed? i would think that would jsut une more resources, almost like windows vista's visual effects?
