    What I can't figure out is why on earth you would push down hard on the middle of your screen? Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. I think I'll pass on seeing if mine does it to.

    Same thing will happen with any lcd screen. Don't do it, it's bad and could break the glass.

    There is no reason to press hard on the screen. The Torch screen is not pressure sensitive.

    Hmm... when I hit my Torch with a hammer the screen cracks. Is this a phone bug? Can it be cured with a software update?

    You have to reformat your screen.

    Put your phone in a cup of water and leave it for 48 hours. The ripple effect will be gone for good.
