Does this is the first time that RIM separate ROM and RAM specs?
    For example:
Torch: 4 GB storage, 512 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM
    Bold 9700: 256MB storage, 256 MB RAM

So, thats means that the Bold ROM is its storage too. Will be nice if we can use the 4GB storage for ROM LOL!

I know... I just thinking loauder. I'm really thinking on the first question:
Does this is the first time that RIM separate ROM and RAM specs?

If is. This is a good advantage from previous devices. Including 9700. All competition, iPhone, Captive, EVO, Droid have the same amount of ROM/RAM, 512/512.

There's nothing saying the 9800 has 512MB of volatile RAM (like SD or DDR RAM). The 512MB memory figure is for app memory, which is non-volatile flash memory.

For example, from Verizon's Storm spec page:
"1GB onboard memory, high-capacity microSD slot with an already included 8GB microSD card, 128MB flash, 196MB RAM"
    BlackBerry Storm™ 9530

What this is saying is the Storm has:
1GB total flash memory. Of its total internal flash memory, 128MB is app memory for the OS and applications (like the hard drive in your computer). It has 196MB of RAM (like the RAM in your computer)

EDIT: From RIM's specsheet on the 9800:
512 MB flash memory / 512 MB SDRAM
BlackBerry - Torch 9800 Specs. BlackBerry Torch specs about the new smartphone.
