Default Problems with Playlists

Hello,
I didn't use playlists earlier, but I downloaded some fitness apps : micoach and coach 2 5K...and to play music along-with these apps running, the songs need to be in playlists...but in their settings, it says I don't have any playlists...
So, I started making playlists and here I some problems I faced:
1. When I write the name of the playlist, it write in grey and not black (I don't know if I should be bothered, but it looked strange).
2. When I add a song, only the songs that have been downloaded via wi-fi sync can be added to the playlist...other songs which I straightway copied to my sd-card, can't be added. I get the error message saying - "this song is not in your desktop music. Only songs from your desktop are permitted in this playlist." This seems weird as I can't make playlist from the songs I have only on my phone.
3. I still made the playlist using the songs I had synced with my desktop using wi-fi sync...but still my fitness apps show there are no playlists in the media; however when I goto media>playlists, I see the playlist there and can play it also.
Kindly help.

Thank you.

Maybe it's best to create the playlists using a computer.
I use M3U Dropper to create the playlists. Please make sure the path to the physical mp3 files are relative according of the location of the playlist files.

I put al my music on the sd-card in my own folder structure. Any changes are automatically picked up by the music player. This is much more convenient while you have full control.
