This is reminiscent of the last few releases of OS 4.6 on the Bold. After rebooting -- or disconnecting from the computer -- the Torch takes forever to scan the media card (you can see this by going to Media > Music). I have a 32GB card with 3800 or so songs, and the Torch will scan 100 -- yes, exactly 100 -- then pause for 10 seconds, then scan exactly 100 more, then pause again, etc. And the phone is very sluggish during that time, just like the Bold was on everything above 4.6.0.266 with a sizeable media card. Anybody with a large capacity card and a lot of musoc experience this?

Dang! I didn't even think there has been 3800 songs written! Good luck, sounds like you need a BB with a main fram lol

Nope, it's a problem RIM had with later reiterations of 4.6 on the Bold that seems to have resurfaced. It only disappeared with 5.0. I'm not sure how they made it disappear (for that matter, I'm not sure how they introduced the problem on 4.6, because it wasn't there on 4.6.0.266 and below), but at least we know it can be potentially be resolved with an update.
