Not sure what exactly went wrong but the screen is refusing to turn on. Everything from led to keyboard lighting works but for some reason a) the screen wouldn't turn on or b) the rare time that it does, the touch screen function of the torch wouldn't be responsive.

Any help guys?

My first thought would be to try a battery pull to reboot the device. Many times, that's all that is needed for something like this. When was the last time you charged the device? Try hooking it up to a charger for a couple of hours after you try the battery pull to see if that helps.

Tried the battery pull, overnight charging, switching batteries. Nope, none of that helped.

Battery pull won't do anything in screen damage. Either your touchscreen is damaged or its loosened inside. I guess its fully damaged. Time to get it replaced. All the symptoms you have defined clearly says that screen itself is damaged.
