I continue to have this problem and have for some time (
Battery gets to 30 - 40% and then tanks)
I've tried various batteries (new OEM one, one from my husband's Torch - which gives him no issues), I don't keep apps running in the background and nothing seems to work.
My husband took my battery after it tanked todayand recharged to 100% and immediately put it in his Torch and it said 50%. He suspects that the pins on the mobo are screwed up and don't always read all of them. Changing the OS has no effect, changing the battery has no effect, and even when I've done a wipe and reinstall of the OS and not added any extra apps, it still happens (so it's not a 3rd party app issue). Hardware on the mobo and those pins is about all it can be.
We have a spare Torch with the screen cracked that we were thinking of trying to swapping mobo's on but what I don't know is if this will wipe out everything on my phone and change the pin and imei number and all. i.e. if I back up before we try it, could we get everything back as necessary?
I am due for an upgrade at AT&T but I"m not sure I want to "waste" it right now since I'm contemplating switching to an Android after I do more research on how it integrates with MS exchange (calendar, tasks, notes and mail are most critical for me).
thanks!
