Hi guys, have gotten pretty familiar now with my device - going to tempt an upgrade from .246 to .337 - just a quickie - has anyone with an Orange UK device done this already - if so any problems?

ticking along nicely, fingers crossed - bit of practice till the next version crops up :-)

Does the blackberry torch update on its own because when i first got mine something come up on the screen and updated the phone then rebooted?

Not automatic unless it is picked up by your carrier then you will get a pushed notification to update, which is most likely what you got when you purchased the device.

What this thread is referring to is upgrading to another newer version that's not supported by your carrier but is still an official release by RIM.

If you really want to get creative.. Try a hybrid

Currently in love with my hybrid, battery life has increased by half, and the phone itself is way smoother and quicker. Only issue with it, can't access the wifi setup stuff(if you have wifi profiles saved they will connect, just can't connect to anything new). Since I only use 2 wifi spots its not a deal breaker for me.

To be honest have not had any probs with .246 but felt I should start having a go at this. There's a sticky at the top of this section, plus there's a blackberry 101 thread around if you search that has screen shots. It's very simple
