Default Obsessed about keeping your Torch clean and shiny? Check in!

Now that we have a touchscreen device, how many of you are OCD about cleaning, shining, and polishing it all the time, especially the touch screen?

I've always been pretty obsessive about taking immaculate care of my devices. I keep a microfiber cloth everywhere I am, and I regularly wipe it down. It's not just the fingerprints on the touchscreen - it's the overall shine. I like it to just pop.

So how about you? Do you just manhandle it and not worry about how it looks? Or do you have to have it glistening like a diamond?
I phart in your general direction.

So you put your phone in the same class as your car keys and wallet? Interesting.

Yep, I keep a cloth made for eyeglasses with me. I clean the sunglasses and BB with it.

Yup, I take care not to damage it, but I don't treat it as something that needs to be polished and cleansed everytime I use it... That's OCD to me...

Or it's an indicator that you don't own many nice things that *DO* deserve that kind of attention.

Or it's an indicator that you have many nice things and you take care of all of them. Like me and many others, I'm sure.

I have micro fiber cloths everywhere. But I was that way with my Bold too. I'm a bit OCD with phones, computers, glasses, desktop. But not my wallet or keys.

Default It's a *PHONE* - and a new business venture

I think I just found a new business venture...

Mobile Phone Detailing (MPD) for people who need their phone to be polished, cleaned, de(face)greased, and shined everytime they look at it!!!!

I could also do OCD counseling!!!!

(I think you guys need girlfriends...)

i don't think it's OCD right away... just taking care of the things you own..
same way you wash and detail your car..
and clean the RIMs and the dashboard..

I'm not OCD about my $35.00 wallet but I am with the money inside of it.
I'm not OCD with my $8.00 keys but I am with $46000.00 car.
I'm not OCD with...... maybe I am with my $500.00 Torch.

Wait...didn't you read what amateur-psychologist JustAPhone posted? You probably don't own anything nice that *DOES* deserve that kind of attention, so you don't have a $46K car. Just like I don't have a large, beautiful home and great automobiles, toys, or anything else nice. Why? Because you and I are obsessed with keeping our Torches clean and shiny.

as for me, i think Cleaning stuff became a habit..
you know.. we need to shine those boots.. clean our women.. etc etc

At first, I was always cleaning my Torch screen because to me it smudges a lot.
Now I realize I pay less conscious attention to wiping it down, but I do absent-mindedly rub the screen against my shirt now and again.
I was thinking of slapping a screen protector on mine and calling it a day.

Clean our women? Really? Lol. They can't clean themselves?

    And very nice gun...

I am very OCD about cleaning my Torch, just like my car and my Oakleys (which I love as much as my Torch). I just like to keep my stuff nice and doing so does not mean that I have other possessions that are not expensive or taken care of!!!!

errrr... i have a Torch.. since launch day..( family got 4 to be exact)
and i also use a Curve ( company issued)
contrary to popular beliefs, you can actually own both..( Windows and Apple) or ( blackberry and apple ipod touch/iPad)
i guarantee.. they don't BLOW up even if they're placed next to each other
and the only reason i posted the gun is to be clear about my previous post of " cleaning the women" since we name them after women..
i don't want to give an impression of being a sexist although the post sounded one.

If JustAPhone's profile is filled out correctly, it is no wonder he/she doesn't use a cloth to wipe down a 9000 bold on a regular basis.

A 9000 bold doesn't get nearly as much dirt/oil/smudges on the screen that a touchscreen device does... Why comment on a thread about how you don't bother to clean off your phone when you don't own the phone in question?

Yes, I have a problem. I can't stand my phone being dirty. I am trying to get over it, and I'm sure I will to some extent, but for now, I don't like smudges on it.

I didn't take offense to your "cleaning your women" comment...it just made me laugh trying to picture it. And don't worry, my gun is a guy...
