Help please. My Blackberry Torch won't start up. it just shut down last night, and it won't turn back on.

Did battery pulls, usb charge, wall charge, press the trackpad, etc, etc

the red led light flashes for about 10 sconds, then stops, then flashes again, and stops, and continues.

Not sure what to do!! anybody know how to fix this?

When you plug it into your computer, does it detect the phone when you try turning it on?

If so, try reloading the OS.

If the phone turns on at all or you get it to start and see a "507" screen. It is considered "nuked"(or something happened to your operating system and the phone wont start). Its not hard to recover it from this state, although it does take some time to complete. Follow the link I posted and it will get you back up and running.

i cannot seem to find the desktop manager that works with the torch
on the link you provided it's step three. The options arent available, it just says that the software is not available for my device (i have desktop manager 6).

    strange

That is not the DM but the app loader in step 3. Its the basics of loading an OS without using DM. If you have Dm 6 u have the correct one for your device. Reread the directions, if your trying to use desktop manager your not following them correctly.

Do you have the latest version of the OS installed on your computer?

From the requirements section of the instructions:

have the BlackBerry Operating System you want to install/reload onto your Nuked BlackBerry installed

That picture you posted is of the loader.exe located in

    C:/program files(x86 if using a 64 bit OS)/common files/ research in motion/app loader/loader.exe

You will only find this location if you have installed the OS to your pc.

Can you find the loader.exe file in the location I posted?

If so just double click it and after it reads your device that screen will appear. On a side note, yours will say "Blackberry 6.0 system software", not the 4.2 that is posted in that pic.

i have desktop software 6 installed and i installed the OS in the sticky section.

was i supposed to delete the vendor.xml file?

  18. homer1475's Avatar
did you delete the vendor.xml file in the same folder your currently in? Did the loader recognize your phone when you plugged it in(gave you your pin)?

DM software has nothing to do with what your doing.
